Q&A
What should I know before a thread lift?
How long does a thread lift last?
It depends on the type and number of threads and the degree of sagging, usually several months to over a year. Dissolvable threads are absorbed over time, but the collagen formed in the process helps maintain elasticity.
How do cog threads and mono threads differ?
Cog threads have barbs that physically pull sagging tissue to refine contours, while mono threads are fine threads placed densely to stimulate collagen and improve texture and fine lines. The two are combined according to your concern.
How is it performed?
After design and local anesthesia, threads are inserted with thin needles. No incision is needed, and treatment time depends on the area and number of threads.
What is the recovery period?
Swelling, bruising and a tight feeling may last from a few days to 1–2 weeks. Most people can resume light daily activities from the next day.
What are the aftercare instructions?
For a while, avoid opening your mouth wide or massaging your face firmly. Avoid saunas, alcohol and strenuous exercise for a period, and avoid sleeping face down.
Who should not have a thread lift?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have inflammation or wounds in the treatment area, or have had a hypersensitivity reaction to the same ingredient, treatment should be postponed or another option considered. Please tell us about your medication and medical history during consultation. Please tell us in advance if you take medication that affects blood clotting.
Does a thread lift leave scars?
Threads are inserted with thin needles without incisions, so visible scars are rare. Small needle marks may remain briefly at entry points but usually heal naturally.
Can it be combined with other lifting?
Shaping contours with threads and supplementing elasticity with lasers or skin boosters often creates synergy. Order and intervals are planned together during consultation.
The number of sessions, duration of results and recovery time vary depending on individual skin condition. Details will be explained after consultation.
