Q&A
Melasma, spots or warts — which laser is right?
Why distinguish melasma, spots and warts?
Melasma and spots are excess melanin, while warts and skin tags are raised lesions caused by viruses or friction. Different causes need different lasers; treating them without distinction risks recurrence or scarring.
Which devices are used for pigmentation?
For melasma, spots and freckles we use pigment lasers such as Spectra and Accento N to selectively break down melanin, together with care to reduce secondary pigmentation after treatment.
How are warts or skin tags removed?
Raised lesions are precisely removed with CO2 laser and radiofrequency devices. Several can be treated in one visit, and deep lesions may need a touch-up.
What are the little bumps around my eyes?
Small bumps around the eyes are often syringomas (overgrown sweat glands) or milia (keratin cysts). Syringomas are removed with Agnes or CO2 laser, and milia with a micro-incision or laser.
How many sessions does melasma need?
Melasma varies in depth and extent and recurs easily, so it is rarely resolved in one session. It is usually treated several times at regular intervals, and sun protection and lifestyle care help results last.
What are the aftercare instructions?
Scabs or redness may appear, so do not pick them and keep the skin well moisturized. Applying sunscreen carefully during treatment is the most important way to prevent pigment from returning.
Can laser alone remove melasma permanently?
Melasma develops from overlapping causes such as hormones, UV and irritation, so laser alone cannot be considered a permanent cure. Lightening it with laser and combining lifestyle care and maintenance treatment reduces recurrence.
The number of sessions, duration of results and recovery time vary depending on individual skin condition. Details will be explained after consultation.
