Q&A
What should I know before lip filler?
How long does lip filler last?
Lips move constantly when talking and eating, so results are shorter than in other areas, usually several months, depending on product, amount and metabolism.
How long does swelling last?
Swelling peaks for 2–3 days after treatment and mostly settles within a week. The final shape is best judged after swelling subsides.
I'm worried it will look overdone.
LUVE uses a layering technique with small amounts to avoid an overdone look. Rather than just adding volume, we balance the mouth corners, lip line and symmetry for a natural impression.
Which products do you use?
Depending on the area and goal, we choose from genuine hyaluronic acid fillers such as Rejuvielle, Belotero and Neuramis, sometimes using different products for delicate lip lines and volume areas.
What are the aftercare instructions?
Avoid lipstick and lip makeup on the day, and avoid hot or spicy food, alcohol and saunas for a few days. Also avoid pressing or biting your lips.
How long does lip filler take?
Usually about an hour including design and numbing; the injection itself is quick. It may take longer if mouth corners or philtrum are treated too.
How painful is it?
Lips are sensitive, so numbing cream and, when needed, local anesthesia reduce pain. Some products contain an anesthetic, making the procedure more comfortable.
Who should not have lip filler?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have inflammation or wounds in the treatment area, or have had a hypersensitivity reaction to the same ingredient, treatment should be postponed or another option considered. Please tell us about your medication and medical history during consultation. Please tell us in advance if you often get cold sores (herpes) on your lips.
The number of sessions, duration of results and recovery time vary depending on individual skin condition. Details will be explained after consultation.
