Q&A
What should I know before Hilowave?
How does Hilowave work?
It is a dual hyaluronic acid skin booster using both high- and low-molecular HA. Low-molecular HA hydrates, while high-molecular HA helps maintain volume and elasticity, addressing inner dryness and texture together.
How many sessions are needed?
It depends on dryness and elasticity, but a course is often 2–3 sessions a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance based on your skin.
How is the treatment performed?
After numbing cream, it is injected across the face or in specific areas with fine needles. Hollow areas such as the mid-face are injected with an adjusted technique.
What is the recovery period?
Redness, slight bruising, swelling or small bumps may appear but mostly ease within a few days. Avoid makeup and strong stimulation on the day.
What are the aftercare instructions?
Avoid saunas, alcohol and strenuous exercise for a few days, and moisturize and use sunscreen well. Do not press or rub the injected areas.
How long does the treatment take?
Usually about an hour including numbing; the injection itself is quick. Time varies with the area.
Who should not have Hilowave?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have inflammation or wounds in the treatment area, or have had a hypersensitivity reaction to the same ingredient, treatment should be postponed or another option considered. Please tell us about your medication and medical history during consultation.
How is it different from a hydrating injection?
Both use hyaluronic acid, but Hilowave combines two molecular sizes to address hydration together with volume and elasticity. The choice depends on whether your concern is just dryness or also hollowness and elasticity.
The number of sessions, duration of results and recovery time vary depending on individual skin condition. Details will be explained after consultation.
